Within the question there is usually truth. WIthin the answer there are usually lies.

All Tied Up

August 6th 2008 21:39
Ok, so a woman is in court at the moment charged with manslaughter, after her husband died during a bondage session. It must be a tricky predicament for the jury when you have to decide the fate of someone who had no intention of harming their partner, but by all intensive purposes, caused his death by her own actions. Sure, he allegedly wanted her to do it and apparently they had done it a thousand times. So where do you draw the line? Did she really fail in her 'duty of care' when the deceased boasted to her that he could get out of any way she tied him up. What she thought she was up to was something that turned him on, so could she be jailed for doing something to him out of love for him?

It is obviously very hard to police actions that go on behind closed doors, and it's a good thing too! And if you are aware, there is some pretty extreme stuff going on in many homes around the world. Many play it safe, but with anything out of the ordinary there are usually risks involved. I have certainly seen some stuff online that you just couldn't imagine people would enjoy, but they do! Some women apparently like being tied up, naked, in an awkward position, hoisted up and used as a ceiling fan! Some guys enjoy having their genitals squashed by a vixen in high heels. But just to clarify things, i am not one of them.
We have all done some crazy stuff in our times, but bondage is not something that floats my boat. I can't understand why people are so willing to give themselves to another human being and allow themselves to become so vulnerable to that persons wants.Trust is obviously a very big issue when it comes to such an act, but when limitations are crossed, who is responsible?

What i mean, for example is, what if someone allows themselves to be tied up, spanked, whipped and enjoyed but has there 'safe word' ignored when the perpetrator gets too into it and brings out the candle wax. They drip it all over the body of their slave and cause burn marks. Can that person then claim they were assaulted? There is a lot of grey area in cases like this and i hope they are able to find a reasonable verdict. Perhaps getting people to sign a waiver may help in court cases of this kind. Of course, you would need to have a detailed account of what you are going to have done to you. But that might help!
People take risks and some die due to the risk. That's why it's a risk. And the bigger the risk, more often, the bigger the thrill. So let's not stop doing crazy things that we enjoy, just remember though, if there is a risk, think of all parties involved and have an escape plan if required. The government has a Worksafe initiative, perhaps they need a Playsafe one too! And remember...if you like bondage, do it with care and use safety ropes!
Don't be a dope, skip the rope!

It's very true what you say. Where is the line drawn? Should people have the right to even question what goes on behind closed doors. Playing it safe is best, I agree. And although I myself and a safety girl LOL. Quite a few people I know are into that sort of thing. I am going forward this article you wrote to them so they, too, can be aware of the painful hardships one might under go by doing something of this nature.

Great post!

interesting problem... I don't know where the law sits on this issue, but it must be very traumatic for the wife...

Thanks JP
I am honored you found it worthy to pass on this post to friends. If i can just put a second thought into someones head before they do something potentially dangerous, then i have been successful.
Regards to you and your kinky friends. LOL

Like i said, there is a lot of grey areas, especially when peoples kinks go outside the norm.It would probably be on a case by case basis. The wife would be devastated, she wanted to give him what he wanted, and she ended up killing him, how awful!

Thanks for your comment.
