Within the question there is usually truth. WIthin the answer there are usually lies.

Banks-The quiet assassins.

July 11th 2008 03:08
Is it just another case of us all being kept down by 'THE MAN?' Because i can't believe, as the price of everything is skyrocketing, the banks continue to put up their interest rates, in spite of all the hardship already surrounding us. It was announced today that the Commonwealt Bank has just raised it's variable home loan interest rate and plans to increase its business loan rates in a few days. Doesn't anyone want us to try and get rich anymore? Surely with the amount of Goods and Services available to us these days, we could buy a lot more stuff and keep the economy moving. Surely the Top 10% of wealthy Australians don't buy enough to be able to have a marked effect on our economy.

Yes, i know it was nice of the government to give low income earners a tax cut. But honestly that tax cut only really covered the increase in the price of petrol and porn, it doesn't cover any of the flow on effects. Which basically is the rising in price of every other good and service known to man, regardless if it has anything to do with petrol or not!! What the hell, let's raise the price of everything, no one will notice if my home grown veges i sell out my front yard go up by $1 each, i'll just say it's petrol related.
And in a way it is...everyone is trying to offset the rising cost of petrol on everything else by rising their own prices. If you own a business, why wouldn't you do that? That is, i can understand the small business owners taking that course of action, but the million/billion dollar companies are disgraceful. When rising petrol prices means that these guys are only making a little less profit, then so be it. Deal with it! What the hell do you need so much money for anyway, just be content with your slightly diminished millions/billions and leave your consumers alone.

I don't blame the banks for the rise in petrol prices, but i sure as hell blame them for being complete assholes and raising their rates in this economic climate, especially when the Reserve Bank hasn't said anything. Every time i walk past a bank it stinks, and now i know why. It's because the Managers are rolling around like pigs in shit!!
Which Bank?....F**K THEM ALL!!
